PADI NIGHT DIVER

Diving under the darkness of the night offers a mysterious and captivating experience in the world of diving. The PADI Night Dive course Diver Specialty invites you to explore this fascinating underwater realm, where the light from your flashlight reveals new marine life and unique behaviors.

Designed for PADI (Junior) Open Water divers Divers or above, who are at least 12 years old. This course teaches you key skills such as flashlight handling and communication techniques, night navigation and identifying differences in the behavior of marine creatures at night.

The first dive of this course can even count as an Adventure Dive towards your Advanced Open Water certification. Diver : Ask your instructor about earning credit.

  • Course prerequisites: PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver (or initiation level certification)

  • Phases of the course

Phase 1. PADI eLearning® (online classes)

To begin this phase, the student must purchase the online theoretical course through the PADI website: https://www.padi.com/es/cursos/night-diver . The eLearning time commitment is 2-4 hours.

Phase 2. With your Instructor (open water training).

Training using Open Water (Sea) diving equipment.

  • Equipment and logistics
    • Includes: Transfer of diving equipment to the pool area, PADI instructor, flashlight, tank, weights, vest and regulator.
    • Not included: fins, mask, snorkel and wetsuit ; if you do not have them, you must inform your instructor and there will be an additional cost.
    • Time required: 2-4 hours in open water.
  • Training
    • In addition to the swimming pool, the following marine sites are available for diving instruction on Santa Cruz Island: Caamaño, Punta Estrada, El Bajo and El Barranco. The choice of location will depend on the sea conditions and the decision of the diving instructor.
