PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER

Advanced Open Water course Diver offers you the opportunity to improve your underwater skills. During the course, you will hone navigation and buoyancy techniques, explore diving depth, and select three diving specialties from a wide range of available options. Each completed specialty earns you credits toward certifications. PADI specialized.

Areas of specialty include enriched air nitrox diving , deep dives, fish identification, night diving, buoyancy control, digital underwater photography, search and recovery, underwater natural studies, underwater navigation, underwater debris cleanup, dry suit use, and wreck exploration.

Phase 1. PADI eLearning® (online classes)

The first phase involves studying through the PADI eLearning program, 6-8 hours, where the theoretical aspects of the course are covered and 13 diving specialties are studied such as altitude, boat, underwater digital imaging, currents, dry suit, fish identification, night, search and recovery, underwater naturalist and wreck diving.

Phase 2. With your Instructor (training) in open water

The second phase takes place in open waters under the supervision of an instructor, where five dives are carried out, including a deep dive, a navigation dive and three chosen specialties.

  • Prerequisites: Open Water Diver / Junior Open Water Diver (or qualification certification)
  • Total commitment time: 2-3 days
  • Minimum age: 12 years or older
  • Depth: The maximum depth depends on your age, but the maximum depth is up to 21 meters/70 feet.
Equipment and logistics

Includes: Space on a specialized boat for diving instruction, transfer of diving equipment to the open water diving site, PADI instructor, tank, weights, vest and regulator.

Not included: fins, mask, snorkel and wetsuit ; if you do not have them, you must inform your instructor and there will be an additional cost.

Training

It will take place in the marine sites of Santa Cruz Island, we designate for diving instruction: Caamaño, Punta Estrada, El Bajo and El Barranco. Seymour, Mosquera, Daphne, Floreana and Bartolomé.

The choice of location will depend on sea conditions and the decision of the diving instructor.
