PADI DIVE MASTER

Divemaster program offers training to become a leader capable of managing diving activities. Through theoretical sessions, in-water practice and assessments, you will acquire the necessary skills to organize and direct various underwater activities.

Covering a wide range of topics from the role of the Divemaster to diver safety and environmental management, this course prepares participants to supervise dives, conduct briefings, and lead training programs.

The fees for this course cover only your online training, assessments, and certification card. Fees for practical training, dive equipment, student board, and logbook are available as additional fees through your PADI Dive Center.

Prerequisites and Requirements

Age requirement: 18 years or older

Course Prerequisites: Rescue Diver , 40 logged dives, CPR and first aid certification within 24 months, medical clearance to dive

Time Commitment: Approximately 50 hours

Equipment

As a dive professional, you’ll want to have all your basic diving equipment, including a dive computer, a dive knife, and at least two surface signaling devices. During practical exercises, such as underwater charting and search and recovery, you’ll use a compass, floats, signaling buoys, lifting balloons, and slates. Your PADI Instructor can suggest additional equipment that will be useful throughout your diving career.

Phase 1. PADI eLearning® (online classes) or in-person classes.

To start this phase, the student must acquire the theoretical course through GALAPAGOS SCUBA DIVING SCHOOL GALAPAGOSSCUBADIVING SAS

Phase 2. With your Instructor (training) in open water

Training using diving equipment in pool and open water (sea).

Equipment and logistics

Includes: Transfer of diving equipment to the open water diving site, PADI instructor, tank, weights, vest and regulator.

Not included: fins, mask, snorkel and wetsuit , diving computer, diving knife, surface signaling devices; if you do not have them, you must inform your instructor and there will be an additional cost.

Training

In addition to the swimming pool, the following marine sites on Santa Cruz Island are designated for diving instruction: Caamaño, Punta Estrada, El Bajo and El Barranco, Seymour, Mosquera, Daphne, Floreana and Bartolomé.

The choice of location will depend on sea conditions and the decision of the diving instructor.
